케임브릿지 사전은 'blandishment'를 "pleasant words or actions used in order to persuade someone to do something(어떤 사람이 무엇을 하도록 설득하기 위해 쓰이는 상냥한 말이나 행동)"이라고 정의했다.

"She was impervious to his blandishments(그녀에게는 그의 감언이설이 통하지 않았다)."

롱맨 사전은 'blandishment'를 "pleasant things that you say in order to persuade or influence someone(누군가를 설득하거나 영향을 끼치기 위해 하는 상냥한 말들)"이라고 설명했다.

"How sensible she had been to resist his blandishments(그의 감언이설에 저항하다니 그녀는 참 분별 있다)."

옥스퍼드 사전은 'blandishment'를 "pleasant things that you say to somebody or do for them to try to persuade them to do something(어떤 사람에게, 또는 그들이 무엇을 하도록 설득하려고 하는 상냥한 말들)"이라고 풀이했다.
